I love social media. I really do…especially Instagram. It has changed how we as a society announce to the world our big life moments. All you have to do is post a picture of your new shiny ring on your manicured finger, or of you holding your belly, or whatever it may be, and people just *know* what you mean and then the congratulations come rolling in.
Well Nicki Minaj has always been an idol of mine for how extra she is. She dresses so fearlessly and is always unapologetically herself. So naturally, when it was time for her to make a big life announcement (on Instagram, of course) on July 20th, she dropped the pregnancy bomb with a very glamorous photo of her bump stating that she and her husband, Kenneth Perry, are expecting. She captioned her Instagram update #preggers. Her outfit was just as you’d expect from our girl. She was dressed in a patchwork Swarovski crystal detailed bikini by Lacey Dalimonte, marabou tipped platform heels, and diamond chains. Ya know, the basics for a pregnancy announcement photo.
Everything about the picture showed how fashionable she is, but also shared for a very joyous mood celebrating the occasion. We can’t wait to see this little rugrat!
