Disney+ has been an amazing gift to all of us with mass amounts of nostalgia. The Lizzie McGuire reboot has been in the works for a while now, but fans might get the best of both worlds when it finally airs. And by that, I mean there might be a Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana crossover. Eeeep!
Hilary Duff shared Miley Cyrus might make an appearance as her pop-star alter ego, Hannah Montana. Duff confirmed in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan that the team is still working on the reboot despite production shutdowns and the showrunner departing. In the interview, Duff said, “I’ve never thought about a Hannah Montana and Lizzie McGuire crossover, but never say never.”
On the flip side, Miley Cyrus has always been a mega fan of Hilary Duff’s. She recently even had Duff on her Instagram Live show Bright Minded and shared that Duff was the reason she auditioned for Hannah Montana. She said to Duff, “I don’t think I gave a shit about being an actress or a singer. I just wanted to copy you no matter what.”
There’s only one problem, Cyrus has been very vocal about distancing herself from her famous role in recent years. However, she’s been referencing and joking about the show a lot in 2020, as well as her love for Hilary Duff and Lizzie McGuire. Hannah Montana was also part of multiple Disney Channel crossover specials back in the day, which is proof that it could potentially work out. Let’s just keep our fingers crossed that she will put her blonde wig on just one last time. This Lizzie McGuire and Hannah Montana crossover really is what dreams are made of.
