10 Movies On Netflix To Get You Excited For Halloween Early

Halloween is fabulous. It’s a the only time of year when little kids can dress up as monsters and demand candy from grown adults. But, we’re not children anymore. We don’t go trick-or-treating. However, we can still take part in other festivities and get excited for the holiday. One way we can do this is by watching some of the many amazing films made to scare us (or just give us that fun Halloween vibe). So, here are 10 movies on Netflix to get you excited for the Halloween season.

  • Child’s Play

Everyone’s favorite doll is still on Netflix to play. If you haven’t seen it, the movie all begins when a serial killer possesses a doll and a little boy becomes the new owner of it. You see where this is going.

  •  The Addams Family

The most notorious family come Halloween time. They even have their very own theme song. This movie is all about family ties, but in the oddest ways. When the imposter Uncle Fester returns from the Bermuda Triangle, the Addams’ aren’t quite sold if it’s the Fester they know and love.

  • 1BR (Releases August 23rd)

There’s nothing worse than bad neighbors. But this movie shows what it’s like for this young woman, Sarah, to suffer while living in the presence of a group of crazies in an apartment complex in LA. Naturally, everyone appears to be perfect at first and can’t do enough for one another. Unfortunately, the apartment complex turns out to be more cult-like than Sarah signed up for. It’s a psychological thriller, and needless to say, Sarah loses her deposit.

  • Insidious

Before James Wan began The Conjuring films, he started with Insidious. A couple has to save their son when he’s lost in a supernatural realm called “The Further.” It’s like he’s in a coma, but really just in another realm with demons and spirits and can’t get out.

  • Bird Box

If you see it, you die. Creepy, right? Sandra Bullock and her children are some of the few survivors of this mysterious force killing the population and must take on a dangerous journey down a river with their eyes covered by blindfolds. What happens next, they’ll never know.

  • Sinister

A true-crime author (Ethan Hawke) is desperate for a hit and discovers the house he’s staying in has a history of violent murders when he finds movies that prove it. It’s disgusting what happens after he keeps watching the movies.

  • Scary Movie 5

These movies are fun to watch because they give you a break from all of the terrible “scary” movies that try too hard, but never quite turn out right. This fifth one follows a couple that realizes a demon is stalking their family after coming home from the hospital after giving birth. Obviously they set up cameras and all of the other normal getups like in other scary movies. Don’t expect to actually be scared, just laugh a little from the imitations.

  • Carrie

Remember how you were always told to play nice in high school? Well everyone who didn’t in this movie found out that karma really is a you-know-what. Carrie, a misfit girl who was pushed to her limits, finally gets the revenge she deserves at her school prom. It’s a remake of 1976 classic, but still pretty good.

  • The Boy

A young woman, Greta, becomes a nanny for a couple in an English village for an 8-year-old boy. Little does she know the boy is actually a doll that the couple cares for to cope with the death of their own son. When Greta violates some rules, a series of unfortunate events lead her to believe that doll is actually alive after all.

  • Underworld

The first film of the series focuses on Selene, a vampire, who suspects her enemies (werewolves) are going after a human of interest. She decides to shadow this human and while doing so falls in love with him.
