Netflix Is Coming Out With A New Holiday Movie Earlier Than Usual This Year

Should you have to wait until after Thanksgiving to start watching Christmas movies? That is the universal question. Some channels and platforms embrace the fact that the Christmas season is near and go all in with Christmas movies. Netflix has always waited until after Thanksgiving to begin showing new holiday films, but this year it’s hopping in on the festive movie fun. The streamer is releasing a new film, Holidate, starring Emma Roberts at the end of October.

As the title suggests, the movie is a holiday rom-com. Two single people are totally over being the extra wheel at holiday parties and agree to be each other’s plus one to parties. Obviously, plans don’t always work the way you want them to when you’re playing with hearts.

The film’s synopsis reads:

“Sloane and Jackson hate the holidays. They constantly find themselves single, sitting at the kids table, or stuck with awkward dates. But when these two strangers meet one particularly bad Christmas, they make a pact to be each other’s “holidate” for every festive occasion throughout the next year. With a mutual disdain for the holidays, and assuring themselves that they have no romantic interest in the other, they make the perfect team. However, as a year of absurd celebrations come to an end, Sloane and Jackson find that sharing everything they hate may just prove to be something they unexpectedly love.”

Make a “holidate” to watch Holidate on October 28, 2020!
