Starbucks’ Gingerbread Latte Won’t Be Returning In The States This Season

Do you smell that? Starbucks holiday cup season is upon us all. The fresh brews are brewing and the fun starts TOMORROW, Nov. 6. Almost all of the seasonal favorites are making a return. We will see favorites such as the Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha, and the Caramel Brûlée Latte on menus. However, if you’re wanting a Gingerbread Latte, there’s some disappointing news.

On Friday, Nov. 6, the coffee chain is making a return of the seasonal beverages, including Peppermint Mocha, Toasted White Chocolate, Caramel Brûlée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, and Eggnog Latte. The Gingerbread Latte, which combines steamed milk and espresso with sweet and spicy notes of gingerbread and topped with whipped cream and ground nutmeg, won’t be on the U.S. menus.

This will be the second year in a row the Gingerbread Latte will be missing from the seasonal menu. So if you live in the states, you’ll have to select another holiday favorite. According to Starbucks, participating locations in Canada will be bringing back the Gingerbread Latte. So if you’re for some reason in Canada and craving a Gingerbread Latte, you’re in luck.

Even if you’re not chipper about the Gingerbread Latte news, Starbucks will still make your day with the four new limited edition cups. The new cups consist of: a red-and-green polka dots design, a wrapping paper-inspired design, vintage holiday ornaments-inspired “sparkles” against a dark green backdrop, and a Starbucks brand ribbon design. Also, when customers buy a holiday drink on the release day (Nov. 6) at participating U.S. locations, they will receive a free-limited edition reusable red cup while supplies last.

So while it may be unfortunate about the Gingerbread Latte, it’s not all bad news. Either way, red cup season is upon us and that means it truly is the most wonderful time of the year.
