A ‘Sex And The City’ Reboot Has Been Confirmed

New York City’s most famous group of girl friends are back at it. Rumors of a potential Sex and the City reboot have been circling for some time, and now they’ve been confirmed. Sarah Jessica Parker officially announced the return of the show on Sunday, January 10th. The actress posted a teaser trailer for HBO Max’s Sex and the City reboot, titled And Just Like That. And just like that fans were happy again.

Back in 2017 Parker teased about a potential third Sex and the City film. Obviously that never came into play. But then rumors of a new series began to circle at the end of 2020. And now here we are. Parker and her co-stars have officially confirmed these rumors via social media.

So here’s what we know so far about what our favorite New York ladies are up to these days.

Cast

The sequel will star Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon, continuing their original roles as Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York, and Miranda Hobbes. Unfortunately, our favorite sex addict/publicist, Samantha Jones, won’t be in the show. Kim Cattrall has long said she’s finished playing the role of Samantha. Otherwise, no other cast members have been revealed.

Premiere Date

HBO Max hasn’t announced a premiere date for the sequel series, but we do know it’s scheduled to start filming in the spring. There will be 10 half-hour episodes, following the ladies in their 50s (instead of their 30s) as they enjoy life in New York. The earliest fans can expect it to premiere is at the end of 2021.

Trailer

Parker posted a teaser to confirm the rumors of the show. While it doesn’t reveal too much, the video does show someone typing out the show’s title on her laptop, followed by “The story continues…”

Get ready fans, this show will be here before you know it. And just like that, 2021 is off to a great start!
