Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, have been shaking things up since they got married. So far, they’ve done a number of things to keep their audience entertained. Mainly, Prince Harry decided to step down from his senior working role within the royal family. Since then, the two have been looking for ways to become financially independent. They have signed deals with Netflix and Spotify, and they’ve been working on their charitable endeavors through their organization, Archewell.
Well now Prince Harry has landed a job at BetterUp Inc, a Silicon Valley start-up. His title (in addition to being “Prince”, “Duke”, etc.) is: Chief Impact Officer.
According to The Wall Street Journal, BetterUp Inc is a “fast-growing coaching and mental health firm”.
Harry was asked via email what he plans to do with his new role. He responded, “I intend to help create impact in people’s lives. Proactive coaching provides endless possibilities for personal development, increased awareness, and an all-round better life.”
He will have multiple responsibilities in the new position. The Duke will be working with product strategy decisions and charitable contributions, in addition to being a public advocate for mental health.
Harry’s salary will remain private and he won’t be anyone’s line manager, but The Wall Street Journal has confirmed that his role is an important one. According to BetterUp’s CEO, Alexi Robichaux, “It’s a meaningful and meaty role.”
Robichaux mentioned that he and Harry met through a mutual friend and have been in contact for a few months.
