If you didn’t watch Outer Banks in a full day or split it into two by now, that’s pretty impressive. Many of us have enjoyed watching adventurous teens on a treasure hunt in their beach town in the Outer Banks. We’re all craving season 2 of this show. So here’s what to expect with the second season of this Netflix show.
Note: Spoilers to come!
Recap of Season 1
Outer Banks is about a squad called the Pogues. The main character, and head of the Pogues, is John B. John B’s dad went missing at sea as he was searching for $400 million worth of gold. The Pogues go on a crazy hunt that lead them to the treasure. By the end of the show, John B is being falsely accused of murder, hops on a boat with his rich girlfriend, and is being chased into the eye of a storm by police.
Confirmation of Following Seasons
Netflix confirmed the news of the new season back in July. The possibility of seeing Pogues and Kooks again this summer is absolutely thrilling. Creator/showrunner Jonas Pate told USA Today he wrote season 2 while in quarantine and that he pictured the show as a kind of “four-season novel.”
Cast
If you’re curious who’s returning for the new season, no need to worry much longer. All the main characters are coming back. This includes Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, and Austin North in addition to all the rest of our favorite side characters.
Location
Pate shared that part of the upcoming season would take place in the Bahamas. “There would be a couple episodes that take place, at least partially, in the Bahamas – it unfolds into a bigger mystery. We keep our old villains and we add some new ones. But it always comes back to the Outer Banks.”
The show did release a photo around the same time as the renewal with the caption: “See you in the Bahamas.”
