Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen turned 35 on June 13, which is wild to think because we’ve been idolizing the twins since we were kids. We’ve watched the twins go on a variety of glamorous vacations and always wanted to be friends with them. They had the whole “popular girls next door that you can be friends with” thing down. Some of the best things to come from their movies are the fashion, which is no surprise considering their iconic fashion empire. But since it’s summer, we should look at the movies where they travel to the beach, like Holiday in the Sun and Our Lips Are Sealed, for fashion inspiration.
Holiday In The Sun
The movie is full of romance (obvi, as is every Olsen twins movie), awesome shots of the Bahamas, and Megan Fox hilariously getting turned down. But twenty years later, the style of this movie is still so iconic.
Basically, this movie is filled with strapless tops, tinted sunglasses, platform slides, chokers, skorts, bikinis, and hair scarves. Ideal look for summer? Yes. It’s a total aesthetic worth copying. The look is refreshing and chill AF. So let’s hit rewind and get to working on those vacay vibes.
Our Lips Are Sealed
This movie is all about the twins serving time in the Witness Protection Program in Australia. Again, we see them living it up on the beach with cute surfer boys, so the fashion is super copy-worthy.
In this movie, we see the girls wearing lots of tropical prints, bucket hats, crop tops, small sunglasses, chokers, bikinis, and platform sandals again. So, we see some similarities to Holiday in the Sun and can clearly pick out our new wardrobe accordingly.
