The First Official ‘Friends’ Merchandise Line Is Here To Support Charity

It may have taken 26 years after the beloved TV show first came to our screens, but the first official Friends merchandise has arrived.

There’s a Cast Collection of apparel. For this collection, each of the six main stars, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, have come together to benefit charities “near and dear to each of the stars”.

The first collection will only be available for four weeks. In the collection are references from seasons one to three of the sitcom. The following seasons will be focused on future collections, which will be released over the next nine months, with each collection only available for one month. You can expect the next collection drop to focus on moments from seasons four to six, and the final will put the spotlight on seasons seven to 10.

A variety of “the cast’s favorite lines of dialogue and iconic moments from the show” are featured on T-shirts, vests, hoodies, sweatshirts, hats, and mugs. Also included in the line are standout pieces, like Monica’s catchphrase, “I know!”, Phoebe singing Smelly Cat, and Joey saying, “Could I be wearing any more clothes?”

Rachel and Ross’s complicated relationship is a reference on three pieces. One is a “lobster” design that includes their silhouettes. Another is the image of Rachel on Ross’s back prior to them becoming a couple, with Ross saying, “When were you under me?”. And, of course, the “We were on a break” and “We were so not on a break” opposing designs.

All of the cast members have chosen charities close to their hearts. Aniston chose to donate proceeds to Americares, a non-profit that “is working to provide relief, mental health care, and medical aid to communities and individuals affected by Covid-19.” Schwimmer decided on The Rape Foundation, which is an organization he said he “cares deeply about”, that “supports state-of-the-art treatment for child and adult victims, as well as innovative prevention and education programs.” Cox is donating to EBMRF, a “volunteer charity raising awareness and funding cure for Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) a rare, and debilitating genetic skin disorder.”

Kudrow, Perry, and LeBlanc still have not announced which charity they have partnered with on social media.

The items are being sold through Represent and begin at $19.99 for a mug, $29.99 for T-shirts and vests, and $49.99 for sweaters and hoodies. Sizes range from small to XXXL.
