People look forward to the Pumpkin Spice Lattes year-round. Some might argue they are just as loved as the red holiday cups, if not more. You might even say that the PSL marks the beginning of not just fall, but the whole festive season that continues until the end of the year. “The return of the PSL marks the start of the autumn for many *cue crackling bonfires* … The drink is now a seasonal staple synonymous with cozy knits as the temperatures cool and we finally say farewell to summer,” says Starbucks.
The popular seasonal drink contains the signature Starbucks Espresso Roast, a pumpkin pie-flavored sauce, milk, and whipped cream, and it’s topped with autumnal spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. It literally tastes like sweet pumpkin pie.
Paying attention to the past few years, we can guess that the PSL might be released sooner than normal. If the rumors are true, Starbucks will be bringing the PSL to stores in just a few weeks. Starbucks has been releasing the PSL to its menus on the third Tuesday of August every year for the past couple of years. So, if they keep up this trend this year, the drink will likely be back in Starbucks stores on Tuesday, August 24.
Another sign that fall drinks will be back in Starbucks stores soon is that the company released its fall at-home coffee collection in late July. According to a Starbucks spokesperson, you can “check out the newest fall products from Starbucks available on grocery store shelves, including new Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Flavored Non-Dairy Creamer and new Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew Concentrate.”
Last year, Starbucks pumpkin spice-flavored K Cup pods, ground coffee, VIA instant latte sachets, plus a flavored creamer and an iced espresso version of the PSL were available in stores. There was also a line of maple pecan-flavored coffees in many stores, according to Starbucks’ website.
Looking at last year’s fall menu, fans can expect a bunch of pumpkin spice-filled treats this year. Last year’s fall menu (per Starbucks official site) included a Pumpkin Spice Cold Brew, Pumpkin Scones, Pumpkin Loaf, and Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins in addition to the classic PSL.
