There’s Going To Be A New ‘Home Alone’ Movie On Disney+ This Year

31 years after Kevin McCallister got left behind at home, Disney+ is bringing us a brand new Home Alone movie on November 12. The streaming service announced on Thursday that “Home Sweet Home Alone,” 20th Century Studios’ new holiday movie from the Home Alone film franchise, will release a whole lot of Christmas hijinks and mayhem just in time for the holiday season.

Disney+ shared a scrapbook of seasonal snaps including the film’s main cast in a Twitter thread. This featured stars Rob Delaney, Ellie Kemper, Archie Yates, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons, Pete Holmes, Devin Ratray, Ally Maki, and Chris Parnell.

Yates stars as Max Mercer, “a mischievous and resourceful young boy who has been left behind while his family is in Japan for the holidays. So when a married couple attempting to retrieve a priceless heirloom set their sights on the Mercer family’s home, it is up to Max to protect it from the trespassers…and he will do whatever it takes to keep them out.”

Home Sweet Home Alone was co-written by Saturday Night Live’s Mikey Day and Streeter Seidell and based on the original Home Alone screenplay by John Hughes. The movie’s director is Dan Mazer, while Hutch Parker and Dan Wilson both serve as producers, and Jeremiah Samuels is the executive producer of the film.

Merry Christmas, ya filthy animals.
