It’s been 26 years since the first Scream film was released, and now a fifth movie is on the way. Even if you’re not a hardcore Scream fan, you may want to add this new installment to your watch list. The new film will feature lots of the original cast returning to Woodsboro, making it a must-watch movie. So here’s what we know so far.

Plot
Paramount has finally revealed a synopsis for Scream 5, which seems to follow the original 1996 Scream film.
The synopsis reads: “Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past.”
Cast and Crew
Sidney Prescott will once again be played by Neve Campbell, David Arquette will be back to play his role as Dewey Riley, and Courteney Cox will return as Gale Weathers. Jack Quaid (The Boys) will play a lead role, and You star Jenny Ortega and 13 Reasons Why‘s Dylan Minnette will also star in the film. Other featured actors and actresses include Kyle Gallner, Mason Gooding, Mike Madison, Melissa Barrera, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.
The new installment is directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are responsible for the script of the new film.
Release Date
Back in August 2020, it was announced the film will come out on January 14, 2022. So, mark your calendars.
