Neiman Marcus has once again rolled out its collection of luxurious holiday gifts. This is the 95th edition of the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book. Back in 1959, cofounder Stanley Marcus decided to sell a steer to customers, which could be delivered either live or as steaks. It’s expanded to feature motorcycles designed by Keanu Reeves, private planes, and even extravagant New Year’s Eve parties in different editions.
The retailer debuted this year’s gifts at a celebrity event on the Paramount lot in Los Angeles Tuesday. This year’s book includes 200 pages.
“It takes over 2,000 hours of effort and big teams across the organization contributing,” explained Daz McColl, chief marketing officer at Neiman Marcus.
So what’s in the book? Let’s take a look.
A Mughal Heart Diamond
This year, the retailer is offering a 30.86-carat, heart-shaped diamond. It’s the most expensive item in this year’s Christmas Book, priced at $6.1 million. The buyer will be able to name the gem with the Gemological Institute, lining it with his or her family for eternity. It’s the ultimate expression of everlasting love.
Party at the Apollo Theater
The second priciest item on the list is a $395,000 private party for 20 on the stage of Harlem’s Apollo Theater. This party is complete with a Roaring Twenties theme.
Custom Hummer
Don’t worry, there’s a eco-friendly twist to this. Just pay $285,000 to Neiman Marcus and you can get a fully electric Hummer. In addition to the Hummer, you’ll get VIP access for two to the owner’s skybox at the 2022 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction and have a chance to drop the gavel.
A Treasure Hunt
Fashion handbag reseller Fashionphile is giving a three-part closet treasure hunt featuring a $100,000 shopping spree with Neiman Marcus’s fashion and lifestyle director. It will also include five vintage handbags selected by Fashionphile’s CEO. It will cost you $345,000.
Fantasy Trips
The rest of the list will take buyers on getaways. For example:
Luxury Ski Trip
A three-day luxury ski trip for six to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, will cost $235,000. The trip features a day on the slopes with Olympian Lindsey Vonn.
Trip to Portugal
For $80,000, the buyer can take a luxury tour of Portugal. There, you can design your own dinnerware and bring home a custom set.
Family Trip to London
The least expensive fantasy gift is a trip to London, costing $35,000. There, your child can have a personalized book written about them by author Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara. It’s McColl’s favorite gift.
“The idea of a family being able to have that experience and create that book together is a really good symbol of the love and relationships we have at Neiman Marcus, and how we think about our customers,” he said, explaining that some of the price benefits the Boys and Girls Club.
