Stella McCartney’s New Collection Is Dedicated To The Beatles

Beatles fans have been waiting for the unedited images collected by director Peter Jackson in the three-part documentary, set to air on Nov. 25 on Disney+. The Beatles: Get Back extends from the film Let It Be, shot by Michael Lindsay-Hogg in 1969. The film will feature a lot of materials never before shown and due to new technology, it will be possible to hear conversations never heard before between John, Paul, George, and Ringo.

Daughter of Paul, Stella McCartney, wanted to give a tribute to her father’s band through fashion. The Stella McCartney x The Beatles: Get Back capsule, launched as part of her Spring 2022 collection and is available on the brand’s website and stores. The line features unisex garments, with monochrome graphics inspired by covers and typographies among the most iconic of the foursome, in contrast with vibrant psychedelic textures designed by the collective The Fool.

“Get Back is much more than a song or a concert, it’s the timeless story of lifelong friends who come together to create something incredible with joy and extreme courage, while at the forefront of the drive for change,” Stella McCartney said. “The Beatles were the faces of a cultural movement headed for positive change that continues to affect the lives of millions of people around the world. I hope that this capsule will transmit and celebrate these universal messages to a new generation.”

The collection is meant to speak to the current generation. In the collection, there’s a bomber jacket inspired by Paul McCartney’s wardrobe, organic cotton denim with galaxy wash, patchwork coats and knitted jumpsuits. These are mixed with colorful T-shirts, sweaters and hooded sweatshirts and a new version of Stella’s unisex Reclypse sneaker.

To launch her new collection, McCartney hosted an event in Los Angeles on Nov. 18 at the popular Henson Recording Studios. Among the many guests were Reese Witherspoon, Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Alessandra Ambrosio, Al Pacino, and Amy Poehler.
