If you were oh so blessed to remember the days when Degrassi was on television, you’ll know that Degrassi was one of the original high-school dramadies. And now the Canadian series is headed to HBO Max for a reboot.
According to Variety, HBO Max has secured the rights for all 14 seasons of Degrassi: The Next Generation. It was originally created in 1979, but became internationally famous with Degrassi: The Next Generation, which aired from 2001 to 2015. The series was revived once again in 2016 with Degrassi: Next Class, which ended shortly in 2017.
WildBrain owns the franchise, whose president Josh Scherba said in a statement, “Now in its fourth decade, ‘Degrassi’ is one of those beloved evergreen properties that demand to be refreshed for each new generation.”
