Twitter is looking to celebrities to make 2022 the year of manifesting. The social media platform has reached Megan Thee Stallion, Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Niall Horan, Demi Lovato and more for its largest celebrity campaign to date. This campaign promotes manifesting as new resolutions, and encourages people to manifest their dreams via tweets.
The selected celebrities were chosen because they each manifested their dreams on Twitter at the start of their careers. Megan Thee Stallion tweeted in May 2014, “I need a team [because] I promise this rap shit gone take off for me.” She has now gone on to become a Grammy-winning musician. Liu’s tweet came in 2018, saying, “OK @Marvel, are we gonna talk or what #ShangChi” years prior to him being cast in the Marvel movie that came out last year.
Twitter is putting these celebrity tweets on billboards, which will be placed in seven cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago and Toronto. Other cities were chosen because they are the celebrities hometowns, such as Houston for Megan Thee Stallion and Inglewood, CA. for Issa Rae.
Twitter will also be donating to multiple charities chosen by the celebrities, such as the Boys and Girls Club, Destination Crenshaw, and UNICEF Canada, among others.
The social media site will also host a livestream with on-air personality Gia Peppers to highlight manifestation tweets by celebrities and everyday folks.
