A Guide To The Best Brows Of Your Life

If there’s one part of your makeup routine that’s underrated, but extremely important, it’s your brows. They can really make or break your whole look. So after doing some research, we got some pointers from one of Hollywood’s best makeup artists, Tonya Brewer, who even does celebrities like Kourtney Kardashian’s makeup. Here’s what we gathered on how to get the perfect brows.

Step 1:

Begin by laying your brows in the position you want. Do this by taking a small amount of Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Freeze on a brow brush and brush the brows down (seems weird because it’s the opposite direction you want them to go). “Think of this as if you were applying an adhesive to the backside of your brows for them to stay up in the position you want them to lie on your skin,” Brewer says.

Step 2:

Once you’ve applied the product, use the same brow brush and comb the hairs up in the direction you’d like them to lie.

Step 3:

Take the handle of the brush and press the hairs against the skin applying an upward motion. “This will keep the brows in the correct position and help achieve the appearance of a laminated brow,” Brewer continues.

Step 4:

Once the brow is laid, lightly fill in any gaps in the brow with a brow pencil. “I use a light hand for this and make small hair strokes with the pencil so the brow doesn’t look drawn on. Sometimes I will even extend the brow to elongate the eye or widen the brow to give it a fuller appearance.”

Step 5:

When the brows are filled, the final step is the lock the brows in place. To ensure the brows hold the perfect shape, apply a few strokes of brow gel (Brewer recommends Makeup by Mario Master Hold Brow Gel). “I usually keep the inner brow closest to the nose a little feathered (by combing in an upward motion). Then starting at the arch of the brow, I smooth it over toward the outer corner of the eye.”
