According to a new study, California has officially been crowned the best state for tacos. Rent.com did some research and recent data analysis reports that California has been named the best state for tacos. So which town is the best in California for tacos? Huntington Park was named the best city for tacos according to the study.
The rankings took three equally-weighted factors into account: number of Mexican restaurants per square mile, number of Mexican restaurants in proportion to the population, and number of Mexican restaurants as a proportion of restaurants. City-level scores were obtained and grouped to state-level scores, according to the report.
Even though California won the rankings, Texas wasn’t too far behind as the runner up and Florida came in third place. Los Angeles’ large Hispanic and Latino population helps with its amazing taco culture, especially in Huntington Park.
As for where are the best spots in Huntington Park, Rent.com has done some research on that as well. On the list includes the 55-year-old institution Avila’s El Ranchito Mexican Restaurant with shredded beef tacos and micheladas as a recommendation. Gallo Giro (known for its large portions), Aguas Frescas (the only place in the country offering this beverage), and El Chamizal (known as “The House of Barbecue”) also made the list.
