Jennifer Aniston recently gave an interview in which she made comments about fame that people are now responding with mixed emotions to it.
The actress recently sat down alongside Sebastian Stan to speak about the realities of fame in 2022. In the interview, Aniston spoke about Stan’s recent role as Tommy Lee in the series Pam & Tommy. While discussing the subject, Aniston talked about why the infamous sex tape leak had been so popular at the time, adding that it was around when the internet culture was really starting to boom.
“…Right at the time when the internet really shaped a new culture about people becoming famous,” she told Variety. “This thing of people becoming famous for basically doing nothing. I mean – Paris Hilton, Monica Lewinsky, all those.”
She continued, “I feel so lucky that we got a little taste of the industry before it became what it is today… More streaming services – you’re famous from TikTok, you’re famous from YouTube, you’re famous from Instagram.”
She added, “It’s almost, like, it’s diluting the actor’s job.”
