Olivier Rousteing took over the Jen Bouin stadium in the 16th arrondissement of Paris to present his Balmain spring-summer 2023 ready-to-wear and haute couture collections in front of 7,000 guests.
In total, a hundred silhouettes strutted down a gigantic marbled catwalk: everything from wicker corsets, flowing trousers, Renaissance references in prints and accessories, recycled pieces including the high dress couture, woven from a monofilament made from the recycling of Evian recycled plastic bottles could be seen.
This season, the biggest surprise at the Balmain show came from Cher, who popped up at the end of the parade to greet the audience alongside Olivier Rousteing. At 76, Cher appeared sexy in a trompe l’oeil patterned jumpsuit revealing her knockout body. Cher made and iconic parade finale.
