Lindsay Lohan is back – and gifting us with her first film since 2018. Finally confirmed by Netflix this week, Lohan will star in upcoming Christmas film, Falling For Christmas, alongside singer and actor Chord Overstreet.
Netflix took to Instagram to release the news by using Lohan’s infamous Mean Girls line: “It’s October 3rd. now mark your calendars for November 10th.”
Netflix also released a still from the film. You can see the two actors standing together looking at something presumably festive. Lindsay Lohan looks excited and joyful, while Chord looks a little bemused but still content.
So what’s this Christmas movie all about anyways?
Netflix has kept details about the film on the DL, but per the official synopsis it follows a newly engaged hotel heiress who “gets into an accident and, suffering from amnesia, finds herself in the care of a handsome lodge owner and his precocious daughter in the days leading up to Christmas.”
Lindsay noted, the project was one she couldn’t pass up since the lightheartedness will be such a joy to fans. “It’s such a refreshing, heartwarming romantic comedy,” she said in an interview with Netflix released Oct. 3. “And I miss doing those kinds of movies.”
This film was different from her previous movies due to her having to learn a whole new set of skills on the slopes. “All the stunt scenes were really fun for me because I haven’t gotten to do that much in a lot of my films,” she said, adding that these include “when I’m flying off the hill, attempting to ski well and not doing it.”
The actress explained that sometimes the thought of trying a new activity and executing it are like going down two different hills. “I love the idea of skiing,” she shared. “[But] i’m not very good at it.”
As the streaming service confirmed September 14, Falling for Christmas is just one gift fans can expect from the partnership between Lohan and Netflix.
