For all those plagued by the ambiguous “Other” taking up precious GB s on your iPhone – despite the fact that you’ve resorted to deleting texts – there is light at the end of the tunnel. And that light is the freed-up memory space. Follow along and never get a “not enough storage” notification ever again.
Step 1
Back up your iPhone to your computer or iCloud. (You can literally just “backup” in Settings.) You should probably be doing this anyways so you don’t lose your precious photos.
Step 2
It sounds scary: Reset your phone to its factory settings. Yes, you heard right. Tap Settings, General, Reset, then Erase All Content and Settings. Believe us – everything will be alright.
Step 3
Set up your “new” device and then, when prompted, Restore! That! Backup!
Step 4
Hit Settings, General, then iPhone Storage to see how that “Other” nonsense has disappeared from there. Take all the selfies your heart desires.
