Meryl Streep Has Been Cast For ‘Only Murders In The Building’ Season 3

Only Murders in the Building quickly became a fan favorite of many. This detective fiction mixes genres to serve a humorous thriller inspired by true crime podcasts, which continue to grow in popularity. You don’t even have to be a fan of true crime to enjoy the show. Proof? The show has received three Emmy Awards and five Golden Globe nominations, among others, and is currently renewed for a third season. So what’s to come in this new season?

Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez aren’t quite finished playing detective. And this time they’re joined by none other than Meryl Streep. The announcement was made by Selena Gomez in an Instagram video. It isn’t clear yet whether Streep will appear as a guest, recurring or series regular.

Only Murders in the Building follows Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez), neighbors at an Upper West side building, The Arconia, who bond over true crime podcasts and start their own when mysterious murders occur in their building. In the first season, they solve the murder of resident Tim Kono (Julian Cihi), and in Season 2 they uncover the killing of Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell).

Two other popular faces that have been confirmed for Season 3: Paul Rudd and Jesse Williams.

In July, Hulu signed for a third season of Only Murders in the Building. The second season ended August 22, 2022.
