Already this month, many A-listers have been seen rocking red lipstick as part of their red carpet looks.
Margot Robbie set the tone, wearing a red Valentino gown with matching makeup to the premiere of Babylon in London. Her look, created by artist Pati Dubroff, used two red lipsticks, one by Beauty Pie and another by Chanel. The theme continued at the Critics Choice Awards, where Julia Garner paired a bold red lip with her outfit, a sheer Ferragamo dress.
This was also the case for Monica Barbaro in Dolce & Gabbana at the Golden Globes. Her makeup artist wrote in an Instagram post, “We talked about going with a nude/pale pink lip, a deep dark almost goth purple/red lip, and finally, which exact shade/blend of bold red shades to do if we went that route. Any of them would’ve worked and been beautiful, but as soon as we swiped on this shade, I knew it was the right one for the day, the dress, the mood.” The chosen lipstick was KW Red by brand Kjaer Weis.
Also found on the red carpet this month, red lipstick has been seen to contrast outfit colors. Take Amanda Seyfried’s Critics’ Choice look: she wore a bright red lip which showed off the same energy as her bold metallic gown by Dior.
