Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, have announced that they are expecting their second child.
“We are very excited to announce that this summer there will be a new member of our family,” the couple announced in an Instagram post, where their firstborn child, August, kisses the belly of Elizabeth II’s granddaughter.
Princess Eugenie’s mother responded to the Instagram post with the words “Granny heaven” and a heart emoji.
“The family are delighted and August is very much looking forward to being a big brother,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement.
The baby news come following a difficult period for the royals after the publication of Prince Harry’s memoir Spare.
Princess Eugenie married Brooksbank at Windsor Castle in 2018 and their first child, August, was born in February 2021. The princess is eleventh in line to the throne and is the younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah, Duchess of York.
The new baby will be one place behind their older brother in line of succession and one ahead of Prince Edward, the King’s youngest sibling.
