Jennifer Coolidge is ready to reprise her role as Paulette in the Legally Blonde franchise.
Reese Witherspoon, who stars as the iconic Elle Woods in the films, recently told Entertainment Tonight that Legally Blonde 3 wouldn’t be possible without Jennifer Coolidge, who plays Paulette Bonafonté.
“There is no Legally Blonde 3 without Jennifer Coolidge,” Witherspoon shared with the outlet.
Coolidge responded to Witherspoon’s statement in a new interview with Extra, saying she is completely down to pick up her role again.
“Of course, I would be on board. I’ve been hearing about it for a long time,” the actress said. “Maybe it is really happening at this point. I would love to do it. I would absolutely love to do Legally Blonde 3.”
Witherspoon spoke highly over Coolidge’s talent and resurfaced fandom while speaking to ET.
“I’m beyond myself about Jennifer Coolidge,” Witherspoon said. “She deserves every one of those flowers she is receiving right now. And she’s just one of those people who is so naturally gifted and funny and that you can just tell people love her, ’cause she get up there and everybody’s like, ‘I lover her’, but she’s just done a lot of good work in our business for so long, that it’s really nice to see her getting this incredible moment.”
Legally Blonde 3 was first confirmed to be in the works back in 2018, though the movie has experienced delays. Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor are to co-write the script.
