London Fashion Week has drawn to a close, ending with Moncler’s Genius presentation, which drew a crowd of 10,000 to West Kensington. The crowd experienced an immersive live performance by Alicia Keys, who was joined on stage by Little Simz and Cleo Sol.
Alicia Keys is among Moncler’s most recent line-up of collaborators, along with Pharrell, Roc Nation by Jay-Z, Rick Owens, Sahele Bembury, Palm Angels and Mercedes-Benz. Among her thousands of fans included Hailey and Justin Bieber, Naomi Campbell, Serena Williams, and Maria Sharapova.
“Yesterday I saw the Art of Co-Creation coming to life,” Moncler CEO Remo Ruffini told Vogue. “I felt the energy of more than 10,000 people, of different creative energies, of fashion, music, art, design, sport inspiring each other and mixing together. That’s a new chapter for genius.”
Alicia Keys sang popular classics such as “Girl on Fire” and “Empire State of Mind”, and teamed up with Simz and Cleo for a rendition of their track “Woman”. Guests enjoyed exploring installation spaces designed to showcase the work of the Genius collaborators.
“This year we are entering a new era of Genius,” Ruffini told the outlet of the decision to expand the line-up beyond just fashion. “Today, creativity is fluid, different worlds interact and they inspire each other. And that is where you find Genius.”
“People that are authentic voices among different communities and are able to inspire new ways of thinking,” Ruffini said. “Genius has always been about pushing boundaries and being disruptive, and this line-up takes us into new and unexpected spaces that we haven’t entered before, creating together something we would not have been able to achieve alone.”
The event – and city- was a perfect ending for London Fashion Week, according to Ruffini. “It is a city always reinventing itself and ever-evolving. A place that has always been a great source of inspiration for younger generations.”
