Jenna Ortega is quickly becoming the modern day scream queen. Between her roles in Scream, Wednesday, and X, the star is a master at all things creepy on-screen. And when she’s off-screen, the actress loves to channel that energy in her looks, too. Her most recent ensemble worth applauding was at the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.
The actress walked the red carpet at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, with a sleek and edgy aesthetic. Her ensemble consisted of a stunning vintage dress from the ’90s runway made of black leather fabric, with an asymmetrical sweetheart neckline, a cinched waist, and a thigh-high slit. It’s archival Versace, from the Italian label’s fall 1994 collection. The dress, designed by the late Gianni Versace, originally included one shoulder strap, but Ortega’s gown was modernized to be without it.
Ortega completed her goth glam look with sleek black Jimmy Choo platforms and diamond jewelry from Tiffany & Co., including a necklace from the Shlumberger collection made of 18-karat yellow gold, platinum, and diamonds. The Wednesday star left her bob down with shoulder-length hair in loose waves and bangs. Her makeup featured graphic white eyeliner and nude pink lips.
Ortega was nominated at the 2023 SAG Awards for Best Actress in a Comedy for her lead role as Wednesday Addams in the Netflix series Wednesday. She was also one of the hosts of the ceremony.
In a recent interview, she talked about the popularity of Wednesday and how her character’s style has inspired some fans.
“I’m really in awe of everyone who has supported the show, all the support it’s received,” she said. “But what excited me the most is seeing little girls who weren’t goth at all waking up the next day and having their parents post pictures of them with their hair in braids, wearing the only black shirt they could find and black lipstick. That gives me a lot of joy because I can’t wait for these girls to grow up and remember their goth days.”
Her role in the series has also influenced the looks that Ortega has worn since the premiere of the series. The actress has almost exclusively been wearing black ensembles on the carpet. It’s becoming her signature, likely a direct influence from Wednesday. Jenna Ortega is officially the queen of the goth glam style.
