Pop culture loves pitting people against each other, especially women. And ever since Hailey Bieber started dating Selena Gomez’s ex, Justin Bieber, in 2016, fans have gone wild with the rivalry. The Biebers have been married since 2018, but the drama between them and Gomez remains a hot topic among the trio’s fans since.
Even though Bieber and Gomez posed for a photo together last November, rumors about the drama between actress and model have flown for months. Bieber was even recently booed at one of Justin’s concerts. However, on Friday, Gomez took a stand against all of the bullying towards Hailey.
“Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity,” Gomez wrote in an Instagram story. “This isn’t what I stand for. No one should have to experience hate or bullying. I’ve always advocated for kindness and really want this all to stop.”
Later that same day, Hailey posted an Instagram story in response. The story read, “I want to thank Selena for speaking out, as her and I have been discussing the past few weeks how to move past this ongoing narrative between her and I. The last few weeks have been very hard for everyone involved and millions of people are seeing so much hate around this which is very harmful.”
Hopefully, with Gomez taking this stand against bullying, her fans will stop harassing Hailey and will encourage people to stop harassing other on the internet, no matter who they are.
