Kim Kardashian is giving acting a try. It was revealed on April 10 that the reality star and business mogul would be starring in the 12th season of Ryan Murphy’s fan favorite, American Horror Story.
Kardashian will be starring alongside American Horror Story fan favorite Emma Roberts. The reality star broke the news on Instagram where she posted a video teasing the series’s upcoming season. She captioned the clip with just two emojis: two big eyes and a single drop of blood. Roberts also posted the news on her social media, writing, “This summer…Kim and I are DELICATE.”
“Kim is among the biggest and brightest television stars in the world and we are thrilled to welcome her to the AHS family,” Murphy said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter regarding the huge casting news. “Emma and I are excited about collaborating with this true force in the culture. Halley Feiffer has written a fun, stylish and ultimately terrifying role especially for Kim, and this season is ambitious and unlike anything we have ever done.”
According to The Hollywood Reporter, unlike the previous 11 seasons of American Horror Story, Murphy is basing this season off of source material. The new season is set to be based off of Danielle Valentine’s upcoming novel Delicate Condition, set to be released this August. Per the novel’s publisher Sourcebooks Landmark, the story is a “gripping thriller about a woman who becomes convinced that a sinister figure is going to great lengths to make sure her pregnancy never happens” and is being represented as a “feminist update” to the classic thriller, Rosemary’s Baby.
This isn’t the first time Kardashian has made appearances in scripted screens. She’s made cameos in 2008’s Disaster Movie as well as voiceover work in Paw Patrol. She was even a love interest in Fall Out Boy’s 2007 music video “Thnks fr the Mmrs”. Delicate will be her most high profile acting role yet, though.
