Following platform sandals last year and ballet flats the previous months, it’s time for another shoe trend to make a comeback: transparent sandals, characterized by their PVC or vinyl material. A tad subversive, they quickly made themselves fashionable, revived by a handful of cutting-edge labels, such as Amina Muaddi. Possibly triggered by the success of the Barbiecore trend, they are now available in a chromatic palette as neutral as it is downright pop. If in summer, we opt for colorful mules to adopt the transparent trend, it’s a safe guess that we will continue to wear the shoe trend at the start of the fall, in a pump version, as shown by the silhouettes seen in the Alaïa fall/winter 2023-2024 collection.
