Rihanna and A$AP Rocky have welcomed their second son, TMZ reported yesterday, August 21.
Sources close to the family told the outlet that Rihanna gave birth in Los Angeles on August 3. The name of the baby has not yet been revealed, but it apparently starts with an R.
The stars are already parents to son RZA, who was born in May 2022. The two musicians were friends for years prior to making their relationship official in 2020.
Rihanna spoke about her hopes and expectations for motherhood in a multitude of interviews over the course of her first pregnancy. In one interview with Vogue in 2022, she said, “When I found out I was pregnant, I thought to myself, ‘There’s no way I’m going to go shopping in no maternity aisle.’ I’m sorry – it’s too much fun to get dressed up. I’m not going to let that part disappear because my body is changing.”
And at this year’s Met Gala, she spoke with Entertainment Tonight in a red-carpet interview about how her second pregnancy felt “so different” from her first.
“It’s so different from the first one,” she said to the outlet. “No cravings. Tons of nausea. Everything’s different, but I’m enjoying it.” She added, “I feel good. I feel energetic.”
Rihanna said of her first son, “I’m in love. I’m obsessed and I don’t even feel guilty about it.”
Rocky added, “[He’s] growing big. Beautiful, happy baby.”
