Black-And-White Is The Color Combo To Have On Your Radar In 2024

Peter Do got his experience working with Phoebe Philo at Celine and then alongside Derek Lam. The New York-based designer manages his own label and is also at the helm of Helmut Lang (for whom he unveiled his first collection a few weeks ago during the New York Fashion Week). Leaving New York for Paris Fashion Week, Peter Do presented his line on the second day of Paris Fashion Week this Tuesday, September 26. A handful of hand-picked guests met at the Palais de Tokyo to discover a collection with impeccable cuts and a plain color palette, and favored a black-and-white combo.

Far from being minimalist, the lines of this collection (including women’s and men’s ready-to-wear), reflect an ideal mastery of tailoring, the designer’s signature. We discover the essentials, reviewed and corrected through a highly desirable graphic prism. The pleated skirt is combined with tailored pants, the evening dress is asymmetrical and the midi skirt is imagined to be pleated, in a black-and-white combo, like a geometric echo of the knit, which it is worn.

Whether in terms of cuts or colors, Peter Do chooses fundamentality. Black-and-white, the ultimate style practice, coloring a large part of this spring-summer 2024 collection, sometimes enhanced with a touch of red or anthracite gray. Engraving his wardrobe more than ever in timelessness, the designer, who was taking his first steps on the official calendar of Paris Fashion Week, seems to have indeed won over fashion fanatics.
