- First rule, the most important: always use the eyelash curler BEFORE applying mascara. Never after: it would just risk sticking to the eyelashes and ripping them off.
- Lower your head slightly back to have added space between the eyelashes and the eyelid. Place the eyelash curler as close as possible to the root, under the base of the upper eyelashes, so that the curl is as natural as possible. Press without overtightening. Twist the wrist upwards to further increase the curvature. Hold for 5 seconds on thin eyelashes, 10 seconds if the eyelashes are denser.
- For an even more natural effect, repeat the gesture on the middle of the eyelashes.
- Apply mascara, avoiding loading on the roots: this would weigh down the fringe of the eyelashes and break the base of the curl.
- Clean the eyelash curler. Consider replacing the rubber pad when it starts to wear out (most eyelash curlers are sold with a refill).
