Happy birthday! It’s a big day, so obviously you’ll want to celebrate. If you’re in Paris, an easy place to start is a nice restaurant. Above cool clubs, hidden behind restaurants or welcoming guests, below are the best places to celebrate your birthday in Paris.
The Camino
Restaurant under the Savoir Vivre flag (the group which already runs Le Collier de La Reine, Deviant and the Hotel Bourbon club) The Camino replaced, last year, the former pizzeria Da Graziella. A tribute to good Italian recipes, the restaurant offers fish crudos, pizzettas, an anthology of fresh pastas (asparagus tortelli, tagliatelle al ragu, etc.) but also meats cooked over a wood fire. What’s new? You can now enjoy a “disco room” by reservation. Hidden at the back of the space, you can book a table for 12 or organize private parties for 40 people seated (and even more if standing).
Lapérouse
Located on the Quai des Grands Augustins in Paris, Lapérouse has forged its own legend for over two centuries with famous guests and juicy stories. Among the first restaurants to win three stars in the Michelin guide (from 1933 to 1969), the place quickly became a hideout for big personalities: Emile Zola, Baudelaire, Marcel Proust and even Colette (who wrote Chatte) were their regulars there. You would also come across Winston Churchill sipping whiskey or even Serge Gainsbourg and Jane Birkin who met there. Now with Benjamin Patou at the helm, behind the Moma Group (La Gare, RAN, etc.) this iconic spot decorated by Laura Gonzalez, is offering to privatize one of its lounges for birthdays. On the menu? Sea bass carpaccio, truffle pasta, grilled fish, chocolate soufflé accompanied by coconut ice cream, with the added bonus of being able to play your own choice of music.
Bouche
Bouche is one of the safe addresses in Paris when you want to share beautiful dishes, drink natural wine or sip cocktails at Mezcal Del Maguey. With Florent Peineau (formerly Gars au Gorille) at the helm of the stove, the place also and above all contains a large guest table, which can accommodate up to 16 people.
Anahi
Intimate Argentinian restaurant in the heart of the Marais, Anahi can also be be privatized on request. Installed between the walls of a former butcher’s shop (whose pristine tiled walls remain unchanged), the restaurant relies on a warm decor made up on shimmering columns, rounded lamps, and an elaborate ceiling. To be enjoyed lit by candlelight, the menu designed by three-star chef Mauro Colagreco celebrates exceptional meats: Kobe beef ham, Black Angus rib-eye fondant, beef picanha, filet mignon… But also Argentinian specialties including empanadas, sea bream tiradito and churros. A favorite refuge for fashion fauna, the wine list and especially the mezcal cocktails are not to be missed.
Le Collier de la Reine
Another address from the Savoir Vivre group (already behind the Hôtel Bourbon club and Déviant) Le Collier de la Reine is halfway between the traditional Parisian brasserie and the English-style public house. Divided into three spaces, we see a welcoming bar, a huge restaurant room where you can taste the good classics of French cuisine but also and above all a festive cellar where you can find natural wines and get together. Modernizing the principle of the seafood platter, the menu evolves according to the seasons and the cocktails are perfectly made.
