Game of Thrones is not quite finished. In addition to the announcement of a season 3 of House of the Dragon on Sunday, August 4, HBO Max revealed the schedule of its series releases planned for the year 2025. Good news for Game of Thrones fans: a first video clip of the new spin-off, A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, was revealed.

Game of Thrones has won a record number of 59 Emmy Awards. A real blockbuster from HBO, the fantasy fiction has won the hearts of fans since its release in 2011. Fans both loved and hated the characters, and let truly felt every emotion watching the series. Notable for its storyline, cult lines (“I drink, and I know things“), the adventures and incredible acting of the talented actors, the Game of Thrones universe is so hard to leave behind that the production team decided to continue it.
Game of Thrones Prequels
The most recent prequel, House of the Dragon, entered us into the Targaryen dynasty nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will, this time, take place closer to the time frame of the initial series. This new series will take place in Westeros, 90 years before the era of Game of Thrones. It will follow the knight Dunk and his squire Aegon V Targaryen, whose journeys will be adapted from the short stories of George R. R. Martin, who will be executive producer on this series. In the excerpt published by the Max platform, viewers can see the knight Duncan The Great, known as Dunk, dressed in his armor, alongside Egg. The latter’s real name is Aegon V, and he is a rebellious and reckless Targaryen child (the nickname stems from his shaved head).
“In a time when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne and the memory of the last dragon has yet to fade from the people’s minds, great destinies, powerful enemies, and dangerous exploits await these unlikely and incomparable friends,” says the synopsis.
Despite the trailer’s briefness, the next series promises to be just as intense and bloody as previous productions. However, it’s worth noting that, for the first time, A Knight of The Seven Kingdoms will follow a hero who does not belong to any house in Westeros. In addition, the series plans to be significantly shorter than the previous ones.
A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will arrive on Max in 2025.
