Jean Paul Gaultier And Shayne Oliver To Collaborate On A New Collection

It’s been announced that Shayne Oliver will be the next guest at Jean Paul Gaultier label. It was through an Instagram post that Shayne Oliver and Jean Paul Gaultier spoke of their future collaboration. In the post, a model wearing a sweatshirt with the imposing GLTR Sportswear logo and the only caption “Jean Paul Gaultier x @shayneoliver.group coming soon…”.

Following Julien Dossena, Haider Ackerman, Olivier Rousteing, Glenn Martens, Chitose Abe, Simone Rocha, and more recently Nicolas Di Felice, for the haute couture collections, Shayne Oliver will reinterpret the Jean Paul Gaultier codes in a ready-to-wear collection. If Jean Paul Gaultier likes playing with pieces with grunge and offbeat accents, Shayne Oliver excels in streetwear looks with Y2K inspirations. The co-creator, with Raul Lopez, of the Hood by Air label (which he left in 2023), has worked for multiple years beside fashion houses such as Diesel and Longchamp. Shayne Oliver confided in an interview that the pieces in the collection were inspired by “utilitarianism, femininity, power and play” and the way in which Jean Paul Gaultier shook up the fashion industry in the 1990s, such as adding denim to the couture shows. A ready-to-wear collection which will be unveiled on May 6, the same day as the Met Gala.
