Rejoice, Upper East Siders. HBO Max just confirmed in a press release that the Gossip Girl reboot has been renewed for a second season. The teen drama premiered earlier this summer and broke viewing records, becoming HBO Max’s most-viewed original series at the time. It’s newcomers – Jordan Alexander, Whitney Peak, Emily Alyn Lind, Evan Mock, Thomas Doherty, and more – have become a huge success along with the show.
The show’s official Instagram account of course was first to announce the renewal news with a post.
“You’ll want to keep your phone close, I won’t be gone for long. S1 continues this fall, with S2 to follow,” the caption read, along with a video of the cast checking their phones for a Gossip Girl blast.
This news comes prior to Season 1 even finishing airing. The cast wrapped up filming just last week, with the remaining six episodes of the first season set to air in November – just in time for the infamous Thanksgiving episode. In the original Gossip Girl series, the annual Thanksgiving episodes were a fan-favorite tradition, making it one of the most anticipated episodes to watch each year.
The new reboot has so much to live up to. But for now….
Xoxo,
